Caledonian Sports On Saturday
A feature of the piping competitions Io be held at the Wanganui Caledonian gathering on Cook’s Gardens on Saturday will be the strathspey and reel championships. A very fine athletic programme has been arranged which will inculde several cycling events. Forty entries hav e been received for the track and cycling events and keen contests ar e assured. The Wanganui Highland Pipe Band will give a display during the afternoon. At the night sports meeting a team of highland dancers will give exhibition dances. There will be a street march from the Avenue to Cook’s Gardens by the Pipe Band.
