Wing-Commander P. G Jameson Returning To N.Z. On Furlough
LONDON, Dee 7 (Reed 7 pm).—A New Zealander who has a distinguished record with the Royal Air Force will shortly be taking a holiday at home for the first time in several years. He is Wing-Commander P. G. Jameson, D. 5.0., D.F.C., formerly of Lower Hutt. He leaves England by air on December 9 and expects to reach Wellington in about a fortnight’s time, to rejoin his wife and daughter. Wing-Commander Jameson, was one of seven survivors who scrambled on a raft, in Norwegian waters when an aircraft carrier was sunk during the early period of the war. In the closing stages he commanded the mobile wing in the Second Tactical Air Force on the Continent. He is now Deputy-Director of Operational Training at the Air Ministry, and recently flew to South Africa with Air Marshal Sir Ralnh Cochrane and and Air Vice-Marshall Sir Basil Embry.
