New Award For Tearoom Workers

WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA). —Settlement was reached in Conciliation Council today on the terms of a new national award for tearoom and restaurant workers. The settlement provides for a wage increase of 5s a week for regular employees with time and a-half for Saturday work and double time for Sundays In most other matters, the conditions of the present award will obtain with the exception of certain alterations affecting part-time Workers, cabaret workers and workers for special occasions, these alterations are designed to give more flexibility to the conditions of employment.
