TENNIS TROPHY MATCHES The two Taihape Tennis Clubs will play their first inter-club match of the present season for the Loader Shield and the Smith Cud next Satu“day. The Shield match will be played at the Taihape courts and the Cup match at the Railway courts. FAREWELL GATHERING Mr. A. Kilkolly will be farewelled by members of the Pirate Football Club at a complimentary smoko. During his 42 years’ residence in Taihape Mr. Kilkollv has been a valuable member of the club as plaver and coach and has held various offices, including that of president. He represented Taihape in a Wanganui team, of the Taihape Rugby Sub-Union, and president of th Coaches’ Association. INTER-CLUB BOWLS Seven rinks from the Taumarunui Bowling Club visited Taihape on Sunday to contest the Rangitikei Shield, Taumarunui Shield and Thompson Banner series. Also at stake was the Rimu Cup, a trophy for competition between these clubs only. Taumarunui were seccessful in wresting the Cup from Taihape by 170 points to 121, and gained points in the Rangitikei Shield and Thompson Banner. Taihape gained a point for the Taumarunui Shield.
