N.Z. And Australian Highland Pipe Bands; Closer Co-operation

MASTERTON. Nov 30 (PA).For the first time in the history of the Highland Band Movement closer co-operation as between Australia and New Zealand was now an established fact, said Mr. I. D. Cameron, president of the New Zealand Pipe Band Association in a statement at Masterton today. Mr. Cameron said Mr. G. P. Stuart, president of the Victorian PipeBand Association, Australia, had been elected a vice-president of the New Zealand Highland Band Association.

It is hop'd to have triennial contests as between New Zealand and Australia. Auckland had applied for the venue of the 1950 Dominion contest in association witn the Empire Games. The matter would come up for discussion shortly by the Dominion executive Christchurch, too, was seeking the contest venue.
