Glading v. Kitto

Glading established an early lead against Kitto, but he had to keep on form to hold it. He was not always he ppy on the greens and putting lapses gave Kitto several chances which the Castlecliff man could not

Glading has been showing signs of staleness, and it was evident today in the way he sometimes stabbed his putts that he probably will not be sorry to put his clubs away for some while. Nevertheless, he did run down some long putts and there was not much the matter with his long game.

Kitto was two down at the turn to Glading’s 35 for the first nine holes. He won the 13th. with a fine birdie four to be two down and Glading missed a grand chance to close off the match on the 16th. green. He missed an 18-inch putt, however, and then sliced his tec shot at the 17th. into the pine trees which are uut to the edge of the fairway. He chipped back onto the fairway and Kitto was unable to avoid the half that Glading, needed to clinch his win two and one.
