Large Membership Increase In Lodge Rangitikei I.O.O.F.

BULLS, Last Night (OC).—Thirtytwo new members were installed at a recent meeting of Lodge Rangitikei I. Deputy District Grand Master Bro. Hurst and associate officers, installed the following members into office: P.G., Bro. L. Hill, N.G., Bro. H. Clark, V.G., Bro. C. N. Hill; Recording Secretary, Bro. W. Hoffman, Permanent Secretary, Bro. K. Dwyer; Treasurer, Bro. L. Hill; Warden, Bro. Burnell; Conductor, Bro L. C. Huddleston; Chaplain, Bro. P. Hansen; R.S. to N.G., Bro. S. Sanson; L.S. to N.G., Bro. G. Harford; R.S. to V.G., Bro. G. Clode; L.S. to V.G., Bro. C. Green; R. Scene S., Bro. W. J. Bromley; L. Scene S., Bro. S. Young; Inside Guardian, Bro. J. A. Kemp; Outside Guardian, Bro. A. Hunt. After the installation Bro. Hurst complimented the Lodge on the increased membership and asked officers to be keen in the execution of their duties, also wishing the Lodge all success in the future. Delegates brought greetings from Kopane, Rangiotu, Feilding No. 7, Kowhai Rebeccah and Kiwitea Lodges P.N.G. Bro. L. Hill thanked Kopane Lodge for their assistance with the initiation of new members. N.G. Bro. H. Clark and V.G. Bro. C. N. Hill returned thanks for their election to office and appealed for the support of all members in running the lodge A. social and dance followed the installation. GOLF SEASON CLOSES Ladies of the Rangitikei Golf Club enjoyed a perfect day for the closing when a fourball competition was won by Mrs. Simpson and Mrs. Broughton. Mrs. Torrens won the senior approaching and putting and the junior went to Mrs. Simpson. Mrs. J. H. Russell, club captain, presented cups and trophies won during the season as under:--senior championship, (Harris Cup), Mrs. Geo Clark; junior champion; hip, (Hart Cup), Miss Margaret Willis; “C” grade championship, (Mrs. Scott’s trophy), Mrs. C. N. Hill; eclectic competition, (Mrs. Dalrymple’s trophy), Mrs. L. Pedersen; Hawart Cup for three best nett scores, Mrs. Geo Clark; weekly competition winners (club's trophies), Mrs. H. Bary (1), Mrs. R. F. Scott

(1), Mrs, C. L. Torrens (11, Mrs. R. O. Dalrymple (D, Mrs. A. Payne (3), Mrs. Geo Clark (I>, Miss E. Young (1), Mrs. L. Pedersen (1), Mrs. C. N. Hill (1), Mrs. F. F. Ralfe (2). The weather was not so good when the men held their closing hut there was a good muster of members in attendance. A mixed Canadian Joursome was played over nine holes and resulted in a win for Mrs. Torrens and H. Bary, while Mrs. R. F. Scott and R. Torrens won the approaching and putting competition. Prior to presenting the trophies won during the season Mr. K. W. Dalrymple (president) thanked all who had so willingly assisted prior to the opening and during the season. Despite the short season the club had enjoyed a good year. Trophies were presented as under.Senior championship cup, R. F. Scott; runner-up trophy, C. L. Torrens: intermediate championship cun. R. Ellery and C. Field: runners-up, H. Kelts and A. Payne. (The consolation handicap lina has yet to be played between Walton and Ralle).
