TEHERAN, Nov. I.—A Persian Army General Staff spokesman stated that Russian forces, supported by tanks and armoured cars, attacked and occupied the Persian frontier post at Chani Boulagh on October 26. One Persian soldier was killed, 20 wounded, and four taken prisoner. The Persians returned the fire but were forced to retreat. The spokesman denied Russian charges that the incident was touched off when a Russian officer was kil’ed by a Persian. Chani Boulagh is on the RussoPersian border on the Caspian Sea.
