Indian Police And Civilians Clash

CALCUTTA, Nov. 1 (Rec. 11.18 pm). —Twenty-five police and a number of civilians were injured when the police last night tried to enforce an order restricting the use of fireworks at the celebration of a Hindu festival called Dewali. Crowds resenting the restrictions attacked the police, who threw teargas bombs to disperse them.
