College Girl Dies Of Injuries; Bicycle Hit By Tram

A pupil of the Wanganui Girls’ College, Margaret Jean Cook, aged 15i years, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Cook. Okoia, who suffered injuries when involved in a collision with a tramcar on Friday, died in the Wanganui Hospital early on Saturday morning.

Miss Cook was riding her bicycle down Victoria Avenue in the direction of the Town Bridge. At the Ingestre Street intersection she turned to her right, having to cross the tramline in the process. A tram was travelling down’ the Avenue close on the cyclist and before it could be stopped it. struck the rear section of the bicycTe.
