Waitotara Valley Roads. Work on bridges on the Waitotara Valley Road is becoming urgent and a start to repair them has been made, the engineer (Mr. W. I. Gardiner) at yesterday’s meeting of the Waitotara County Council. Purchase of Health Stamps. A decision to purchase £2 2s worth of health stamps was made at yesterday’s meeting of the Waitotara County Council. The chairman (Mr. W. McKee) said that this was the amount which had been purchased in other years. Beach Name Changed. The name of Kai Iwi Beach has been changed to Mowhanau by the Geographic Board according to advice received from the Department of Lands and Survey at yesterday’s meeting of the Waitotara County Council. Expected on Friday is the Gale, from Lyttelton, via Wellington, to be followed at the week-end by the Hoimdale, which loaded for Wanganui at Dunedin yesterday. The vessel will complete at Oamaru and on her way north also calls at Wellington. She is due al Castlecliff about the week-end. With dolomite from Onekaka, the Holm burn is due tomorrow and after discharge at Castlecliff sails lor Wellington and Lyttelton.
