Church Of England Preparatory School For Wanganui
It was decided at a meeting of parents held in Christ Church Parish Hall on Monday night that a Church of England preparatory school and kindergarten be opened for the first term next year and it was suggested that both kindergarten and primary departments be accommodated, catering for boys, possibly up to eight years of age. While the school should be primarily for Church of England children, there would be no objection to the attendance of those of other denominations if room were available, the meeting decided. A temporary board of governors will further the foundation of the school and will remain in office until May 31 next. The board will comprise four representatives of the parents, four nominees of the Christ Church vestry, with the vicar as chairman.
Parents’ representatives elected were: Mrs. I. Cameron, and Messi’s. G. I. Saunders, F. H- Bethwaite and J. S. Armstrong. Vestry nominees are to be appointed at a meeting of the vestry to be held in a fortnight’s time.
