Two Elections Necessary For Wanganui Ed. Board

Nominations for the election of members to the Wanganui Education Board closed yesterday. Because of more than one candidate being nominated, elections will be necessary in the south ward and in the Wanganui urban ward. The election will be held on July 21, but the votes will not be opened until July 28. The naminations are as follows: Wanganui urban: Messrs J. C. Batt, sitting member, and F. C. Jannings. South ward: Messrs L. J. Carmine (Feilding), sitting member, and E. N. Rowe (Kopane). North ward: Dr. L. E. Jordan. Palmerston North urban area: Mr. W. B. Tennent (Palmerston North, and present chairman or the board). West ward: Mr. N. Bromiley (Waverley).

Messrs Tennent and Bromiley and Dr. Jordan have been returned unopposed. The other members will have to go to the poll.
