Howe And Cowper In Good Trentham Trials

At Trentham on Tuesday morning Howe (Ho.land) was responsible for the best figures of the morning when he came away in the straight to beat High Order (Ford) by four lengths over six furlongs in 1.18 4-5, the last three being cut out in 41 i-hsec. Howe did not appear to have anything in reserve at the finish, but nevertheless it was a good gallop and is sure to advance him in favour for the Whyte Handicap. Cowper (Biggs) was travelling very easily over the final stages of his six furlongs in 1.19 4-5, the last three occupying 41 3-ssec. It was a very pleasing effort and confirmed the opinion of northerners that he will be difficult to beat in the big mile on Saturday.
