N.Z. Athlete Worked Passage To England To See Olympic Games

Recd. 7.5 p.m. ondon, June 25 Determined to see the New Zealanders compete in the Olympic Games, Robin Gosney, formerly of Wellington, left home with £2 in his pockets and worked his way to England as a steward jn the Atlantis. When the New Zealand Wool Board gave a reception for the team and Miss Mary Wootton (“Miss New Zealand”), he was able to meet them for the first time and wish them good luck. Gosney, who is working as under-cook for a firm catering for Olympic Games receptions, had been given his first job as barman and saw that the athletes were liberally supplied with orangeade.
