Former Conductor And Pianist Visit Wanganui Male Choir

One of those little incidents which have a sentimental as well as a practical value in the world of music occurred at the practice this week of the Wanganui Male Voice Choir. A former conductor (Mr. Lance Craig) and a former accompanist (Mrs. Trevor Thomas, formerly Miss Ethel Bignell) arrived when the choir was engaged in preparing for its forthcoming concert. This gave opportunity to the president (Mr. Dick Christie) to welcome two stalwarts whose services have done much to maintain the choir. At his request Mr. Craig took the baton and Mrs. Thomas accompanied the choir in the singing of an old favourite, “Comrades in Arms.” Mr. Craig was conductor from 1919 to 1927 and Mrs. Thomas, who lives now in Wellington and is visitin' Wanganui on holiday, was accompanist from 1918 to 1930.
