Englishman Arrives In N.Z. For Second Time, To Settle
(P.A.) Wellington, June 9 Probably without precedent among all post-war arrivals from Britain, Mr. Charles J. Hunter, who was a passenger with his wife and daughter in the Mataroa today, arrived for the second time to settle in New Zealand. Mr. Hunter, who is a typewriter mechanic, stayed some months on a previous occasion. It was not lack of accommodation —he a d his wife had a flat in the Hutt Valley then—nor was it dissatisfaction with living conditions that prompted the family’s return to England. It was homesickness, felt both by his wife and himself, he said. However, only a few months after being back in England, his wife was anxious to return to New Zealand. This time, instead of staying in Wellington. they are going to Auckland "We know what we have come to this time,” said Mr. Hunter. “We will make a go of it this time.”
