Raetihi Branch: Owing to the weather there was a very poor attendance at the May meeting of the Raetihi W.D.F.F., but a jolly afternoon was spent by those who were present. After the matter was fully discussed it was decided to give a donation to the United Nations appeal for children. A report on the annual provincial meeting held in Wanganui was received from Raetihi’s representative, Miss Scarrow, and read by the president. A most interesting demonstration on mop-making was given by Mrs. Harold Webb and was enjoyed by all.. Competition results: Best bloom, Mrs. Ward 1, Mrs. McNie 2; pot of jam, Mrs. McNie 1, Mrs. Ward 2; shoulder spray, Mrs. McNie 1, Mrs Ward 2; three chrysanthemums, Mrs. McNie 1, Mrs. Ward 2. Aid for Britain (baby’s bootees), Mrs. Bell 1. Competitions for June will be: Best bloom, three potatoes and three plain scones. Hostesses, Pipiriki Road and town ladies.
