Arab Forces Claim Westward Advances
Recd. 12.45 a.m. London, May 30. Units forming the northern spearhead of the Iraqis’ westward advance claim to have occupied Jenin, in north central Palestine, says the British United Press correspondent at Tel Aviv. The Iraqis’ southern spearhead, which is apparently co-oper-ating with the Egyptians in a pincer movement on Tel Aviv, is reported to be nearing the coast and is now only 15- miles north-east o~ me Jewish capital, following a thrust from Tulkarem, whi’e the Egyptians are 22 miles south-west cf Tel Aviv at Ashdod.

A Jewish communique announced that the Israel Army counter-attscked pn the northern front, capture! a Lebanese Army camp at Malak : eh, a village inside Lebanese territory, and occupied the neighbouring village of Kadis. Jewish infantry units penetrated the Lebanese village of Aitakun after Jewish aircraft had raided it. In the north-east. Jewish forces destroyed two Syrian border police posts with heavy enemy losses.
