Cases Of Paralysis In Same Family

(P.A.) Hastings May 26 There has been an unusually high proportion of cases of po’iomyelitis in the Hastings borough, in which members of the same family are affected, three out of a total of 11 cases being "doubles.” Statistics compiled of the incidence of poliomyelitis show that “doubles" occur in only 4.4 per cent, of cases. The latest Hastings case is an 81 months old boy, who is classed as a, strong suspect. The baby is the brother of a 10-year-old boy admitted to the hospital as a positive case last Saturday. A 14 J-year-old girl reported earlier as a strong suspect case has now been classified as positive. ,
