Present Friday Hours To Continue In Most Avenue Shops

With two possible exceptions, retail stores in Victoria Avenue will continue to observe the Friday shopping hours of from 8.30 a.m. to 8.30 p.m., with no close down for the tea hour, said the secretary of the Wanganui Retailers’ Association (Mr. V. T. Bennett) yesterday.

“While retailers are anxious to give the greatest service to tiie public, the present casing ot power restrictions is to be of a temporary nature,” said Mr. Bennett. "According to Mr. Webb we will be fortunate if blackouts arc not again imposed in June.”
