Poland, Says U.S. Reed. 5.40 p.m. Washington, May 6 The State Department today accused the Polish Government of threatening its own citizens “with exile or worse.” if they sough! uncensored information from the United States Information Service in Warsaw. The department said the latest incident between the United Staffs and Poland regarding information was direct proof that freedr--'. of information “in fact doesn’t exist, in Poland.” Th? statement was made in reply to one by General Victor Grosz, Polish Foreign Office spokesman in Warsaw, who charged the United States Information Service in Warsaw with Jeopardising Poles “by editing and distributing information other than that which the Poles could legally read in their own newspapers.” News dispatches from Warsaw said Polish citizens were stopped by Polish police recently after visiting the United States Information Office, and were warned against further visits.
