Durie Hill Plunket Society

The annual meeting of the Durie Hill sub-branch of the Plunket Society was held in the Baden Powell Hall, Mrs. A. P. Hall presiding over a good attendance of members and friends. The secretary’s report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. Election of officers were as follows: President, Mrs. A. J. Burtt; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames R. L. Dean, A. P. Hall and J. A. McFarland; secretary, Mrs. D. Gaham; treasurer, Mrs. W. E. Pagger; committee, Mesdames Hansel, Ashcroft, Price, Jackson, Ratliff, Olson, Moorhouse, O'Keefe, Cowie Robinson and Harris, Misses Powle and Morgan. The president, Mrs. A. J. Burtt, in her report, outlined the activities of the sub-branch during the past year and thanked the committee and the people of Durie Hill for their support. Mrs. Burtt then proposed a hearty vote of thanks to Mr. G. W. Caird, who once more audited the branch's boks. This was carried with applause. Mrs. Russell (jun.), who trained at St. Thomas' Hospital, London, gave a very interesting talk on the training of nurses in England, particularly during the war period. Afternon tea was served by members and the meeting closed with a hearty vote of thanks to the chair.
