MEN IN THE CRATER It is strange how fascinating a mountain in eruption can be. Mum stands on the lawn and looks; we stand with her! All say it is a “grand sight." But some mug must go one better and get into the crater Itself. We marvel that such should happen, but our "Raetihi adviser" says that he is not surprised. One report said that the mountain was sending up rocks "as big as houses." What th* man in the crater was evidently after, he says, was to see whether any such things as “houses" were being "coughed up by the mount." Strangethings have happened! THOSE “POTTED" GOALS Is it a fact that kickers of field goals in Wanganui are “going on strike” until the managements of Rugby in New Zealand make up their minds what value to award for such goals? It has been four points until somebody in England recently ruled three. Then somebody in New Zealand made a decision that such goal would count three after May 29, Somebody else made another decision that they count three straight away. Now. somebody else says It can be on May 29, or at the start of the season, whichever causes the least argument.
