BRIGHT TONE OF WOOL SALES IN LONDON

The Bank of New Zealand, Wanganui, has received the following cabled advice from its London office under date April 28, 1948: "The sales have opened with strong competition and large attendance or buyers. There is an active demand bv all branches of the trade. Practically nothing has been withdrawn. Compared with the close of last sales in London, sliped are generally 10 per cent, and scoured crossbred fully 10 per cent, dearer. New Zealand greasy Merinos sold readily. Current quotations for wools of average condition: Merinos, super 60/64's 531 to 60; ordinary 60/64’s, 501 d to 62Jd. Crossbreds, 50's, 25d to 28d: 48/50, 221 d to 25d; 46/48, 21d to 22id.
