Technical College played good ixockey last Saturday, when they met and defeated the Hinemoa team in a fast game, which was full of incident. Technical combined well to send J- Keats and A. Hall away, both of whom scored. Woon, the speedy Hinemoa left wing, got away, however, and scored a well-shot goal. Witlx the sun against them, Technical lound it hard going, as it was difficult to sight tlxe ball. B. Buxton, however, collected a defence return, shot nicely, and hit hard to the back of the net at about mid-air height. Hinemoa penetrated again and again; W. Spicer nearly scored, but McKeen (Technical) who was playing great hockey in goal, brought off some brilliant (saves. However, right wing Cave (Hinemoa) collected and scored. The game ended soon after with Technical attacking.—Technical College 3, Hinemoa 2. Messrs A. Affleck and D. Glenny were the umpires. Old Boys the Better Team.

Technical Old Boys were the better team when they played and beat Federal 4-3. The game was marked by broken play with members of both teams hitting the ball far too hard, considering' tne fast grounds and hot conditions, where it should have been a game of short passes and scientific hockey. R. Crutchley, who is fast becoming a first-class centre-forward, was the hero of the Old Boys’ side when on four occasions he shot chanceless goals from just inside the circle. Othex- players fox- Old Boys who gave good dispalys were R. Williamson, R. Glasgow and M. Goldsbury. Federal played bright, if not always safe, hockey. H. Dyson was again a tower of strength in the halves, while G. Davis put in some good runs down the left wing to place his team in a good scoring position. From one of these runs he scored, while A. Borich and G. Curtis also scored fine goals. The game ended with Tech. Old Boys 4, Federal 3. Ratana Improving.

Ratana, who have not been long in the Wanganui competition, played improved hockey on Saturday, when they met Castlecliff. But they were unsuccessful against the more experienced Castlecliff players, who appeared to outplay them in every department of the game and lost by 0-9. Castlecliff scorers were R. Anthony (3)7Tunbridge (2), Holly (1), T. Robinson (1), D. Cate (1), and Keeling (I).’

Castlecliff 9, Ratana 0. Messrs H. te Brun and I. Gurney were the umpires. Juniors: Te«h. Old Boys 4, Collegiate 3.

Both teams played open hockey and it was only the better finish of the visiting forwards that gave them the winning margin. Wanganui Rangers were without the services of H. Mclntyre (centre-half). Scorers were: Broadway, Booth (3) and McEame (2); Wanganui Rangers, R. Mclntyre (2) and I. Gurney (I).—Broadway 5, Wanganui Rangers 3.
