ARMY OFFICER RETURNS TO N.Z. AFTER LONG PERIOD OVERSEAS
(P.A.) Wellington, April 11 Having left New Zealand with the 2nd. N.Z.E.F. in May, 1940, Colonel R. C. Queree, C.8.E., D. 5.0., return ?d to Wellington in the Ruahine from England, where he has been serving since June, 1945, as instructor at the Staff College, Camberley.
It is understood he is to become Quartermaster - General at Army Headquarters, Wellington. When he left New Zealand, he was second in command of the 7th. AntiTank Regiment. He was later bri-gade-major of the Divisional Artillery. In June, 1941, he became G2 on Divisional Laff, serving in lhat capacity until a year later when he took command of the 4th. Field Regiment. In September, 1942, after the retreat to El Alamein, he returned to the staff as Gl, remaining there until April. 1944, when the division was before Florence. Thereafter, until he left the division for the post at Camberley at the end. of June, 1945, he was for a short time in command of the sth. Field Regiment before becoming divisional commander of the Royal Artillery. At Camberley, besides his work as an instructor, he was Gl on the staff.
