INCREASE IN PRICE OF SUGAR

COMPANY DISAPPOINTED. (P.A.i Auckland, April 11. "We are very disappointed with the finding,” said the manager in New Zealand for the Colonial Sugar Refining Co., Ltd. (Mr. J. P. Wildman), when the decision of the Price Tribunal to authorise an increase of £4 2s 6d a ton was referred to him on Saturday morning. The company applied to the tribunal to increase the price by £8 2s Id a ton. "I have not yet received a copy of the judgment, and until I do I ant not in a position to express an opinion on the various factors involved," continued Mr. Wildman. “The figure quoted in the published report as an approved increase in costs to the company is substantially below the figure claimed by the company, and until the judgment is received we are at a loss to understand why this should he the case. Furthermore, it is not clear to us why we should be compelled to absorb increased costs, amounting to 13s 4d a ton.”
