U.S. Navy Abandons Search For Foreign Submarine

Recd. 6 p.m. San Francisco, March 27 The Navy today abandoned the search for a foreign submarine reported to have been sighted 60 miles south-west of San Francisco at dawn yesterday. Reconnaissance planes reported, that no trace of the vessel was found in an intensive combing of shipping lanes. The submarine was seen by the captain of a Pan-American clipper plane.
