(Special) Wellington, March 29. Situation.—A ridge of high pressure is to the northeast of New Zealand and a deep depression is centred southwest of the South Island. Forecast to 5 p.m.. Moderate to strong north-westerly winds; apart from isolated showers in the hills, fair to cloudy and mild. Further outlook: Southwesterly change with a period of rain tomorrew.
