AMERICAN PLANE WAS INTENDED FOR USE IN VENEZUELAN REVOLT
(N.Z.P.A.—Copyright.) New York, Feb. 3. Two bombsights and a cargo aeroplane, allegedly intended for use in an attack against the Venezuelan capital of Caracas, have been recovered at Augusta, Georgia, says the "Augusta Chronicle.” HIB.I. agents have been investigating the sale of three aeroplanes from Bush Field, near Augusta. They were believed to be destined for a South American country.
The aircraft were army surplus which were ferried to the Bush surplus disposal depot for sale. Earlier in Caracas, the president of the governing Junta told Venezuelans to be ready to smash a seditious movement which, he said, had been prepared abroad in alleged connivance with the Nicaraguan and Dominican Governments by a group of Venezuelan exiles.
The coup, which would start with the libmbing of Caracas, was intended to frustrate the taking of office by Senor Romulo Gallegos, the elected President of Venezuela.
