N.Z. WANTS FURTHER INFORMATION FOR VIEWS ON ITALIAN EMPIRE

London, Feb. 3. The Foreign Ministers’ deputies, who are considering the disposal of the former Italian Empire, instructed the secretariat to arrange a schedule to hear the Governments recognised as interested parties who have so far replied to the request to give their views.

■ Six countries stated that they would prefer to state their views after the circulation of the FourPower Commission's final report. They are New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Greece, South Africa, and Czechoslovakia. A significant innovation in the 10year treaty between Italy and the United States is the clause guaranteeing “free” exchange of information and the right of transmission and reception of news betw’een the two countries without any restrictions," says the Rome correspondent of the “Times."

This is interpreted as a political provision implying that, should Italy ever again fall under a dictatorship that attempted to muzzle the Press, the United States would be entitled to renounce the treaty.
