SHANNON THIRD IN SECOND U.S. RACE
Recd. 7 pun. New York, Feb. 3. The Australian racehorse Shannon, carrying 8.13, finished third in his second race in America- He ran in a seven-furlong event for four-year-olds and upwards at the Santa Anita track.
The race was won by Plumper (7.12), with Mafosta (8.10) second. Plumper won by a neck, with four lengths between second and third, and the time was Imin. 23 2-ssec. Shannon also finished third in his first race over a similar distance on the same track.
