Questions on the "Laws of Cricket” will be answered on this page each week by the Wanganui Umpires’ Association, with the object of making loaal players more conversant with the game.—“ Montpelier.” Question: If a bowler should knock the wicket with his foot in delivering the ball and so dislodge a bail or bails, does the act in itself justify an umpire in calling “no-ball”? Answer: No. (vide Law 11, note b.) If the batsman is distracted by such an action, however, he may draw away from the batting crease and make no attempt to play the ball, in which case it shall not count as one of the over.
