OIL REFINERY IN BRITAIN

Recd. 6 p.m. London, Jan. 23 A large oil refining plant at Heysham, Lancashire, built during the war for the production of aviation spirit, is to be taken over from the Government by the Shell Group, which states it will be producing refined spirit at a rate of 300,000 t-ns a year by midsummer. Ail crude oil used at this refinery will come from the Middle East, and as a result it is expected to become an important dollar saver.
