Amusing Recipe For Nationalised British Airways
(N.Z.P. A.—Copyright.) Recd. 8 p.m. London, Jan. 23. There has been some lively criticism of the huge monetary losses incurred by airways lines nationalised in Britain. An amusing one came from the Marquess of Reading in the House of Lords. He said it could be reduced to the terms of a recipe in the late lamented Mrs. Beeton’s book—- “ Take two departments, a corporation, half a dozen committees, rub them well the wrong way until they are thoroughly sour, cut up the responsibility into as many pieces as possible, add procrastination, hesitation, lack of co-ordination, lack of imagination, lack of control, in fact almost every ingredient except oil and ginger, do not stir, leave to simmer for many years and serve lukewarm.”
