FIRST PRONOUNCED EFFECT IN NEW ZEALAND (P.A ’ Auckland. Jan. 18. Introduction of international Instrument flying rules into civil aviation in New Zealand on January 1 had its first pronounced effect during the week-end, when the weather standards in some areas fell below the prescribed minima and all internal services of the National Airways Corporation were delayed. A plane from Christchurch to Auckland on Saturday afternoon was about two hours late in arriving at Mangerc, and one aircraft which was en route to Christchurch from Wellington was diverted to Blenheim for a period. All flights were eventually completed.
