TWO WOMEN’S BOWLING TEAMS TIE
FOURS FINALS MUST BE REPLAYED WANGANUI TOURNAMENT. Teams skipped respectively by Mrs. Dennison (Wanganui) and Mrs. Thomas (New Plymouth) drew in the Anal of the Wanganui Women’s Bowling Centre Tournament which was played on the Wanganui East greens in wet weather yesterday. Aftei playing 21 heads both teams were level with 17 points. Under the rules of bowling the whole 21 heads will have to be replayed. The final will be replayed on the Wanganui Bowling Club's greens. Nelscfn Street this morning at 9 o’clock. The personnel of the teams taking part in the final are:— Wanganui: Mrs. Dennison (skip), Miss Johnson (3), Mrs. Taylor (2), Mrs. Rush (lead). New Plymouth: Mrs. Thomas (skip). Mrs. Gillespie (3). Mrs. Murray (2), Mrs. Quinn (lead). Fours. Yesterday’s play resulted:— Thomas (New Plymouth) 22 v Pluck (Wanganui 13; Dennison (Wanganui) 20 v. Burkett (New Plymouth) Is. Pairs. First Round; Farr 17 v Dobie 10; Dennison 20 v Hurley 12; Foley 14 v Vernon 9; Verry 22 v Buck 6; Dempster 19 v Robinson 3. Second Round: Holloway 16 v Roebuck 14; Verry 16 v Farr 9; Dempster 12 v Foley 10. The remaining games in the pairs will be played at a later date, as the concluding games were delayed by rain.
