BACTERIOLOGIST FOR CHINA
Madame Sun Yat-sen, Chairman of the China Welfare Fund, a relief oraid the International Peace Hospitals in North China, has asked CORSO urgently for the services of a bacteriologist. First organised in 1937 by the famous Canadian specialist, Dr. Norman Bethune, the International Peace Hospitals are today "a pattern for the practice of public health medicine all over the Far East," according to Dr. B. Borcic, formerly UNRRA’s Chief Medical Officer in China, in a letter recently received by CORSO. Dr, Borcic adds: "The policies of non-discriminatory treatment for all patients, and the proficiency of training given physicians, laboratory technicians, etc., all lead to the development of a medical programme which is intended for the people and which actually gets to them."
CORSO Invites enquiries from N.Z. bacteriologists who may be interested in Volunteering for relief service with the I.P.H. in North China. This will be the twenty-third relief appointment made by CORSO ovei- the last 12 months.
