Application lists tor the Auckland Gas Companys’ issue of £508,658 in 44 per cent, perpetual debentures have been closed. The issue was opened on December 8. Up to December 22, when the legal offices and Stock Exchange closed for the Christmas and New Year vacation, applications had reached £484,520, and this amount was allotted at that date. With the reopening of legal offices and the Stock Exchange on January 13, the balance of the issue was quickly subscribed, and lists were closed by the directors with applications for a considerable sum unable to be accommodated.
