CHINESE FINED £75 (P.A.) Wellington, Jan. 14 Admitting being an opium addict and claiming that he was a very sick man and that it was essential he should have the drug, Ah Wah, aged 53, pleaded guilty to permitting his premises at No. 1 Haining Street, being used for the making of opium. Ah Wah, who had three previous convictions in regard to opium smoking, was convicted and fined £75.
