CLUB CRICKET COMPETITIONS RESUME ON SATURDAY
After a break of four weeks due to holidays and representative matches, the Rangitikei club cricket competitions resume again on Saturday. Most players have not been idle during this recess, friendly games and representative fixtures, engaging their attention and when club cricket recommences on Saturday, players should not altogether find the feel of either bat or ball strange. Fixtures and grounds are: Marton v Ohakea at Ohakea; Porewa v. Old Boys at Marton; Hunterville v. Junction at Marton. The unbeaten team, Ohakea, will find the visiting Marton team much stronger than either M.D.H.S. or Porewa, teams which the Air Force eleven defeated comfortably before Christmas, The Hunterville club has not yet dropped a point and unless Junction provides a major surprise, the northern club should emerge victorious. The remaining game is between Old Boys and Porewa, two evenly balanced teams, and this match should produce a keen finish. These series of matches will be concluded the following Saturday. PERSONAL. Miss Heather Heidrich, who is at present nursing in the Palmerston North Hospital, has successfully passed the Junior State examinations.
