NEW DESIGNS FURNITURE IN BRITAIN

London, Dec. 23. The two standard series of patterns for utility household furniture, the Cotswold designs, will shortly be supplemented or replaced by a number of new designs. This is good news, for many people in Britain, who so far have been almost completely restricted to these two utility series unless they chose to buy non-utility or second-hand furniture at very much higher prices. Changes in design are expected to result in some reduction of prices in the more expensive ranges of utility furniture, and also to permit some saving in timber. Another popular decision by the Board of Trade has been to abolish the necessity for giving up dockets when buying linoleum, underfelt for floor coverings, and certain types of bed mattresses.
