WILL RAMADIER GET SUPPORT HE NEEDS IN FRENCH CHAMBER?
Recd. 9.40 p.m. London. Oct. 27
M. Ramader, when he faces the reassembled Chamber tomorrow, is likely, according to the Socialist newspaper “Populaire,” to draw liberally on the example of America to justify the strengthening of French controls and to emphasise the need for halting the fast-widening gap between wages and prices, says “The Times” Paris correspondent. After the Paris transport strike the Government is faced with wage increase demands from all sides, and whether or not M. Ramadier can find a majority in the Chamber depends on a number of factors. The Communists may vote against him. If they may wish tef help him by abstaining they might even vote for him. The same three possibilities exist in the case of deputies who supported General de Gaulle’s party. If a sufficient number of M.R.P. members follow Ramadier ifis believed he will get a majority of perhaps 30 when a vote of confidence is taken about Wednesday.
