Silk and Kitto to Play Club Golf Final on Sunday
The final of the Wanganui Golf Club’s senior championship, between B. M. Silk and A. R. Kitto, will be played over 36 holes next Sunday, and will be the highlight of the club's season The final of the middleweight championship will also be played, the finalists being H. Cox and F. Wiggins. A medal match will be played at Belmont on Saturday and this will be the final match for the One Tree Hill points competition and the final match for the eclectic competitions. The final of the junior championship, which was played recently, resulted in a win for T. O. Cave, who beat G. K. Jones, 1 up. In the semi-finals of the consolation handicap, H. Cave heat S. Crichton 2 and 1, and J. L. Kingan beat W. Creighton 5 and 4. The closing day had been altered from November 1 to November 2 because of the New Zealand v Australia match at Wellington. In addition to the usual Canadian foursomes a new event for a trophy donated by Mr. A. Kellick will be played. This is a Canadian mixed foursomes for the parents of married children.
WANGAEHU GOLF NOTES (0.C.) Wangaehu, Oct. 15. The following is the draw for the coming week of the Wangaehu Golf Club:— Miss A. Castles v. Mrs Bradley; Miss D. Castle s v. Mrs Hawken; Mrs Wilson v. Mrs Grant; Mrs Smith v. Mrs Trotter. Those not drawn will compete in a "one-club" match. Th e best cards tor the bogey match were returned by Mrs Strachan 3 down, and Mrs Bradley 5 down. The Ratana Cup was won by Mrs E. Bradley and Mr G. Fitches. As the links will be cloning soon members are requested to complete their matches as soon a s possible.
