Gordon (Opp., Rangitikei) M».id that the Tura-k*.na-Okoia railway deviation would be opened on December 7. • In a f url her reply to Mr. Gordon, Mr. Semple ‘aid that the cost of the notorious Fordell and Turakina tunnels and the deviation was £1,056,000. Work on the tunnels was neatly finished. Some of the, expenditure would not have heen necessary i» the tunnels had been constructed according to specifications.
