MOTHERS’ UNION

CHRIST CHURCH BRANCH The church service for the October meeting of the Christ Church branch of the Mothers’ Union was conducted by the Rev. J. R. L. Hfggs. Mrs. Lambert presided in the Parish Hall and correspondence was dealt with. Flowers were on sale, the proceeds to be sent to Sister Elsie, at Koroniti. Interesting letters from two link branches in England were read by Mrs. C. R. White. Members decided that Christmas cakes should be forwarded from the Christ Church Mothers’ Union to these two branches. Mrs. J. R. L. Higgs gave a short talk, telling of the work of her sister, Miss Eva Dalton, a missionary with the C.M.S. at Travancore, South India. It was agreed that a “Bring and Buy” afternoon should be held toward the end of October when the proceeds would be divided between the missionary quota for Christ Church and the fund for building a Mothers’ Union house at Travancore.
