JEWS RENEW DEMAND FOR FREE IMMIGRATION TO PALESTINE
(N.Z.P.A.—Reuter—Copyright.)
Recd. 6.40 p.m. New York, Sept. 27 The Jewish Agency tonight renewed its appeal for free immigration to Palestine, and asked Britain to make it clear to the world whether or not she intended to maintain migration bars in any interim period before she withdrew from Palestine. The agencyissued a statment: —
"The policy of preventing Jewish immigration and arresting development of the Jewish national home now pursued by the united forces of the British Army and Navy and the Palestine Administration have been repudiated thrice by international findings. The question arises whether the United Kingdom will persist in this continued violation of its international obligations during the evacuation period. The real alternatives are not between force and no force, but between the force employed for the establishment of international law and justice and force as at present applied for quite contrary purposes.”
