GAS SUPPLY POSITION IN WANGANUI BRIGHTER

“We are expecting about 500 tons of coal from Hie Storm's shipment," said Mr. W. J. Stone, manager of the City Gas Department, in a statement yesterday. "There have been no reductions for about a fortnight," he said, "and we are managing to carry the load." It was stated that with the milder weather coming on, prospects should be much brighter, and stocks of coal art assured for at least 14 days. ' “There is a heavy load at the present time," said Mr. Stone, "and we cannot carry on with all the one type of coal—it is necessary to have certain coals to blend.”

With a supply of 250 tons of Strong,..„n coal, he stated, 35 to 40 tons a day would be used.
