Rehabilitation Activity For July Reviewed
Eighteen applications for housing loans involving an outlay of £22,990 were dealt with by the Wanganui Rehabilitation Committee during July. There were six applications for business loans of a value of £3907, 20 for furnture loans totalling £2OOO, two applications totalling £14,495 for farms, and an applicant for £5O for tools in trade. One applicant drew an undefined section in the Pukehou district, bringing the total to 82 men settled on farms in the district, including three Maoris. An application for trade training in art. metal work and another for training in painting and papsrhanging were approved, and nine part-time educational bursaries were awarded.
